7 MARCH 2019 @ SSE Wembley Arena, London
The Bandito Tour kicked of in Tennessee back in October 2018....
Rollover March 2019, 54 shows later TOP arrived in London.
Wembley Arena not to be confused with Wembley Stadium, has a capacity of 12,500.
Making it the second largest indoor arena in the capital. It hosted the 3 night run for Twenty One Pilots stay in the city.
Immediately, at arriving at the arena a sea of yellow was seen in the masses of people.
Doors Opened: 6PM
Support: The Regrettes, who are a female led American rock band came on around 7PM.
Their song Hey Now, stood out from a first impression.
Following the notes of the complete diversion gig in Brixton, the torched car returned, a Bandito appeared and jumped straight into Jumpsuit.
Twenty one Pilots are known to always put on a show... That's obvious but the question was how would Trench sound live..
The answer is there are some tracks like My Blood and Pet Cheetah that are amplified to a completely different level. Tyler Joseph has a way of controlling the crowd his presence was absolutely present and Josh Dun should not be under appreciated as his drumming made the songs more raw and rich.
What were the good things about the concert?
Well as mentioned earlier the energy and artistry the duo have on stage is clearly evident. The audience responded and when Joseph told them to move they moved.
TIME STAMP: 2.25
It's always electrifying seeing 12,000 people singing along to your favourite song such as Chlorine.
And the bad??
Well the more albums you create your catalogue expands as well. This resulted in some of their earlier albums/tracks (like Regional at Best and Vessel) not being included in the setlist. For example. Ode to Sleep, Kitchen Sink, Gun for Hands and House of Gold. However, this is a completely understandable outcome which is inevitable as the band grows even more successful.
Lastly, it typically depends on the venue but Wembley as convert venue typically sells unofficial merch just after a gig ends. Is it annoying? YES VERY. Are some of the street vendors very forward and pushy into buying something you don't want? INCREDIBLY. BUT the key take away from this is that there's not much TØP and their management could do to ban it. So just power walk and politely say NO thank you until you have reached Wembley Stadium.
TØP at Wembley Arena is my third seeing them live and I will definitely go to any new London gigs in the future. Who knows maybe the o2 Arena is next 😉
