Hidden Gems: ERA

As I have mentioned in many posts.

Nothing beats finding a new artist/band that is just 👌🏻

So how did I find the artist/DJ ERA? Well I have to give credit to my friend Arlinda for sharing ERA's links with me. Thanks Arlinda!

ERA is a DJ/producer from Albania, she is part of Hapësira (Kosovo's largest rave and techno organisation). Since 2019 she is signed to Frekuenc (Gjakova techno based label).

I have dabbled a little bit into Dance Music but I still wanted to learn more about EDM (electronic Dance Music). So ERA's work and production opened the world of Electro/Techno Music for me.

(SIDE NOTE: not all dance music is EDM and vice versa, there's is a clear differentiation between the two, if you want to learn more check out my MUSIC: A/Z page!)

ERA's set in PRESSURE Podcast 002 showcases the talent of mixing and layering. When a DJ can mix so many elements together without making it jarring or overwhelming to the listener that's when you know you found something good. Her work is incredibly powerful, the energy is definitely not missing (probably due to her inclusion of brutalism and industrial influences in her sets). It's also very clever in it's structure. She manages to make an hour set flow dynamic enough that it keeps you on your feet for the entirety of the track. Personal Track Highlight: 15.28-16.05.

Additionally, SCENE is another experimental piece (has more vocal dubs), when you have well crafted electronic tracks that can transport you into an imaginary rave/club room then you know you have found something good. It's not gimmicky compared to others I have listened to in the past and will be added to my Work out Playlist. Personal Track Highlight: 38.47-39.20.

Mixing and production are traits that I truly imagine as I appreciate the work achieved into creating beats and tracks which I don't believe anyone can do.

I'm very much looking forward to see what more ERA can create in the future and if you're in the look out for new electronic DJs I would highly recommend giving ERA a try!
