When: 22/05/2019
Where: Wembley Arena
Who: BLACKPINK
BLACKPINK( Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa) embarked in their first European Tour visiting Amsterdam, Germany, France, Spain and the UK.
The UK had two dates (21/22 May) in Manchester and London.
Firstly, let's talk about the good/enjoyable moments from the concert.
BLACKPINK exceeded my expectations.... Their stage presence was noticeable and were energetic throughout the show. The atmosphere was electric and UK blinks were very enthusiastic.
I enjoyed all the solo stages but personally Lisa's solo with her dance covers of Swalla and Take Me stood out.
The members were also very kind and their english was impressive and easy to understand.
Major songs like Kill This Love and DDU-du DDu-du were the highlights of the show.
Now the bad...
The majority of my complaints have NOTHING to do with BLACKPINK themselves but the organisation done by SSE Wembley Arena itself.
Doors were supposed to open at 5.45/6PM but due to production reasons they didn't open until 7PM. Which is an hour before the show was supposed to begin.
Luckily, for me I was near the front of the queue so I got into the arena before the show began. However, I read various tweets from people missing the beginning of the concert because of it.
Also, merch was being sold but like most concerts it was very expensive. Light sticks were £30 and long sleeve sweaters were £50.
It seems like UK venues are/were not ready for Kpop concerts. Similar problems happened when BTS performed at the O2 last year.
In conclusion, will I see BLACKPINK in the future? YES, but YG please give the girls a full length album.
RATING: 4/5
