When someone asks you: Why do you enjoy music so much?

How do you respond?

Do you tell your whole live story and your past like: It all started when I was younger, I was (and to be honest I still am) constantly addicted to my CD player and singing along whilst tidying my room. I also should give credit to my dad, he would constantly play CDs (remember when they were a thing) in the car and my aunt was also a music fanatic. So, thank you dad and aunt for my current obsession with music.

Or go a philosophical route: Music is therapeutic for me, whenever I am angry, upset or need time to think I put my headphones on and I ignore the world.

Or is it simply because I enjoy discovering new artists and going to live concerts whenever I am free.

Honestly, I have no idea but one thing is for certain there is nothing else I rather do than enjoy a good album from one my favourite artists.

So that kind of leads to the main point of this blog/website.

Sometimes you can’t express everything you want when talking to someone for different reasons but there’s something special when you’re writing it down and just let your thoughts roam free.

Serendipity: “The occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way”

I chose serendipity as the name for this blog as I really think music is an act of serendipity. So many artists and bands I discover happen by accident and have such an influence in my life that brings so much joy and happiness to it.

Even though I have a very good memory for music (lyrics, trivia and so on) I want to have a place where I can look back and see how my musical tastes have developed and changed but also note down whenever I find a new genre or musician.
